New to The Storyboard?

Hello, and welcome to The Storyboard.

The purpose of this blog is literary in nature: it’s a place for me to post my creative writing and other works. The bulk of the material here will likely be poetry, journaling, and perhaps a bit of fiction here and there. Fiction is really my passion, but it takes considerably longer to do than either of the other two, so it will likely not be posted as much.

There are also going to be general news about my life and happenings every once in a while. I hope to add book reviews and reading recommendations  eventually, but we must wait for me to find something really worth reading first off. Won’t be too long, I think.

Navigation is simple: the front page has my most recent updates, and if you wish to peruse in accordance with the type of writing, that can be found to your right in the Categories bar. I hope to get some table-of-contents pages up for each genre as well, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’ll wait till we have more than three or four posts to a category for that.

Links on the Blogroll are to thing I find worthy of interest (as well as a link to my college, Houghton, out of patriotism). I’d advise going to check some of them out, as they are almost all better than my piddly work. Stonework is Houghton’s online literary journal, which has a new issue twice a year. There are poems by folks like Lucy Shaw and Thom Satterlee, essays by Eugene Peterson, and other great tidbits. Highly recommended. Nightthink is the blog of a good friend, Chase. He does some neat video-readings and other nice stuff. Also recommended.

That’s pretty much that. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment, or E-mail me at David.King@houghton.edu.

Thanks everyone,

~DK
